I work from home in Northern Ontario doing tech support, to pay the bills. My boyfriend John and I love cooking and cycling together. I love cooking food that has alot of flavor by using fresh herbs and grinding my spices from the whole spice. I like stocking up on things and freezing seasonally. We make frequent trips to Toronto and Michigan to get supplies that are not available here . You know you are a foodie/cooking addict when you get more excited about a new recipe or kitchen gadget , than buying a new dress.
I’ve decided that the world has gone nuts, and everyone just needs to calm down and have a good bowl of soup and some homemade crackers. Crackers are the new “chips” . The ones you buy in the stores are usually full of fat and preservatives, and if you want healthy good quality ones, you pay top dollar for them. So I decided that it can’t be that hard to make a good cracker, after all it’s not rocket science! There are all sorts of recipes out there for homemade crackers. I’ve adapted this one from A Full Measure of Happiness
I’m falling behind again. It’s been a few weeks since my last post, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been cooking. We’ve been getting a little painting done around the house, and doing some R&D on a few recipes, so the first one I will share with you is this fabulous recipe for Jamaican Beef Patties. Comforted and satisfied are just how these little packages of flavor filled bliss make me feel. Especially good if you have a nice cabbage salad and cold Jamaican Beer to go along with them. Life is good . These are the things that make me happy and that is why I can’t wait to share them with you. So put on your apron and get the show on the road. There will be time to relax later.
